Deposits and refunds
How the deposit works, why it is not refundable, and how to move an appointment instead. Short, and in plain English.
Deposits, cancellations and refunds
The £10 deposit
Booking online takes a £10 deposit per appointment, paid by card at the time you book. It is not an extra charge. It comes off the price of your service, and you pay the rest in the shop, in cash.
Deposits are not refundable. Once an appointment is booked, that £10 stays with the shop. It can follow you to another time, but it does not come back to your card. Please only book a slot you are sure about.
The deposit is what makes the slot yours. An empty chair cannot be filled at short notice, and a barber who is sat waiting is not earning, which is the whole reason it exists.
If you do not turn up
No-show deposits are not refunded. If you do not arrive for your appointment and have not told us beforehand, the £10 is kept.
That slot was held for you and turned away from somebody else. If something has gone wrong on the day, ring us on 07442 342340 and tell us. We are reasonable people and we would far rather know.
If you cancel
You can cancel any time using the link in your confirmation email. It takes one tick and one press, and the slot goes straight back on sale.
Cancelling does not refund the deposit. It is the same for everybody, whatever the notice, which keeps it simple and keeps it fair. If you might still want the appointment, ring us and move it instead: that keeps your £10.
Cancelling is still much better than not showing up. It gives the chair to somebody else, and it means we are expecting you next time rather than wondering.
If you need a different time
Moving an appointment is free. Ring us at least 24 hours before and we will find you another time. Your deposit moves with you and there is nothing more to pay up front.
Inside 24 hours we will still do our best, but it depends on how the day looks. Ring and ask, always.
If we have to cancel
Illness, an emergency, anything at our end: we will ring you, and your deposit carries over to the new appointment, so you are never out of pocket and there is nothing more to pay up front. We will get you back in as soon as we can.
Running late
Ring ahead if you can. Appointments are booked back to back, so arriving late usually means a shorter service rather than a later finish, and past a certain point it means rebooking. A rebooking in that situation is treated as a no-show.
Bookings made by phone or in the shop
Ladies' hair, makeup and facial treatments are booked by phone rather than online, because how long they take depends on you. Any deposit for these is taken on the same terms as above, and your barber will tell you what applies when you book.
Walk-ins involve no deposit at all. Turn up, wait your turn, get sorted.
Asking us to look again
Deposits are not refundable, but if you think something has gone wrong, tell us. Email [email protected] with your booking reference, or ring the shop, and a person will look at it properly. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.
